Carreteras en Japón

Las carreteras en Japón también tienen su toque distinto. Las diferencias más grandes que veo comparando con las carreteras de otros países es que las carreteras japonesas:

• Tienen muchísimos túneles, y algunos tienen más de 10 kilómetros de longitud.
• Cuando pasan por las ciudades, siempre van por un segundo o tercer piso.
• Cuando pasan junto a poblados, tienen paredes muy altas.
• Tienen Oasis por lo menos cada 50 kilómetros.

Yo iba de Osaka a Kurashiki en autobús, siempre usaba la compañía Shimoden. Esta es la foto de uno de los autobuses que me llevaban cada fin de semana de Osaka a Kurashiki:
I think one of the reasons that I have to love Japan is because everything is different. Highways in Japan are also different:

• They have a lot of tunnels (since Japan is full of mountains) and some of them have more than 10 km of length.
• When highways need to cross the cities, they always go on a secodn or third level:
• When highways are closed to little towns, they have big walls.
• They have an oasis at least every 50 km.

I was used to go from Osaka to Kurashiki every weekend, I always used  Shimoden Bus Company.

Fotos de las paredes en las carreteras. Me dijeron que los pueblos se quejaron por el ruido que causarían las carreteras cercanas (los japoneses gustan mucho del silencio), así que las constructoras tuvieron que poner paredes especiales para aislar el ruido.

Here you have some pictures of the walls I talked about. I was told that these walls are there to avoid noises on the peaceful Japanese streets. Remember "silence" is very important to Japanese Society.

Las siguientes fotos son de un atardecer bonito llegando a Kurashiki. De Osaka a Kurashiki se hacen 4 horas en autobús o 1 hora 15 minutos en Shinkansen.

I took the next pictures just arriving to Kurashiki at sunset. I love Japanese sunsets, they are beautiful even in the big cities.

Los letreros tienen luz por dentro, no hace falta poner las luces altas para que reflejen la luz.

Traffic signs have light inside. That was curious for me because in my Country they just reflect the light of the cars, they don't have light inside.

Los Oasis son magníficos porque sirven para descansar en el camino, comprar algo de tomar, comer, ir al baño, etc. TODAS las rutas de autpbús comerciales tienen paradas programadas cada 2 horas en estos Oasis, por lo que los conductores no se cansan y no hay tantos accidentes.

The Oasis are very convenient because you can stop there to eat something, to go to washroom, to drinf something or just to rest. EVERY bus which goes from one city to another have progammed stops every 2 hours on these oasis. I think this is a very good idea because the driver can rest, so they don't have a lot of accidents.
