El distrito de tiendas de electrónica más grande del mundo está en Tokyo y se llama Akihabara. Osaka tiene su propio distrito, también enorme. Se trata de Nipponbashi, en donde se encuentra el Den Den Town, una serie de calles y avenidas que cubren más de 2 km, y en donde se puede encontrar cualquier cosa relacionada con electrónica, computación, juguetes, anime, manga, videojuegos, dvd's, Café de Maidos, novedades y robots.
