Byoudouin Temple

Mi amiga Kazumi me platicó del templo Biodoin y entonces decidimos ir a visitarlo, ya que es un templo muy interesante que además tiene algunos de los símbolos más antiguos de las culturas orientales.
Biodoin se encuentra al sur de Kyoto, y se puede llegar allí tomando un tren de la línea de JR que va a Nara. Es necesario bajarse en la estación Uji y de ahí caminar un poco para llegar al templo.
El lugar es famoso por la calidad del té verde, hay hasta soba hecho de té verde.

Una de las cosas que hacen que este templo sea famoso entre los turistas es que está impreso en el reverso de la moneda actual de 10 yenes, y el ave fénix que adorna el salón principal es la misma ave fénix que está en los billetes actuales de 10,000 yenes:

My friend Kazumi told me about Byoudouin Temple and we decided to go there. I found Byoudouin Temple very interesting, because the style of the Temple was different. It was kind of old style to me.
Byoudouin is located Southern Kyoto and it is reachable by train (JR Nara line), at Uji Station.Uji is a place famous for Green tea, you can find everything made with Green tea, even soba.
One of the things that make this Temple famous is that it is printed on 10 yen coin, and also you can find its Phoenix printed on 10,000 yen bill.

Una de las puertas para entrar a los jardines que circundan al templo. This is one of the main gates to enter to the gardens of the Temple.

Me gustó mucho este árbol. I really liked this tree.

Aquí se ven mejor los fenix que están de la misma forma en los billetes. Biodoin tiene un museo con muchos tesoros nacionales, sin embargo no se pueden tomar muchas fotos adentro. Can you see the Phoenix on the top of the main hall? There is a Museum besides the temple, and you can find a lot of national treasures inside.

A mí me gusta mucho esta foto con el puente y su reflejo en el estanque. I really like this picture with Temple, bridge and mirror.

Después fuimos a este restaurante a comer soba de té verde (hasta los fideos son verdes pero no encuentro la foto de soba) y estuvo muy rico, pero el restaurante estaba vacío. After the temple we went to this restaurant to have some Green tea soba, which was really delicious. Of course we tried green tea.

Esta estatua está dedicada a Murasaki Shikibu, autora de una de las novelas más antiguas jamás encontradas: el Genji Monogatari. This statue is dedicated to Murasaki Shikibu. It is said that her "Genji Motogatari" is one of the most antique novel ever founded.

A la orilla del río hay negocios y restaurantes. You can find restaurants on one side of the river.

De regreso en la estación pudimos ver un bonito atardecer. We went back to Osaka and we found a very nice sunset before getting on the train.
